What's New

Heeno International again took the initiative to mobilize partners in serving humanity, through its wide international and national networks. In cooperation with the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), the Community Action Platform on Environment and Development (CAPED) (a Gambian NGO which specializes in community mobilization and tree planting for mangroves), WellBoring a British organization, and other Gambian NGOs, we have started preliminary activities to plant 1 million mangrove trees in different parts and communities of the Gambia.

The project is starting a month ahead of COP28 (Dubai), Thu, Nov 30, 2023 – Tue, Dec 12, 2023. It will create more than 300 jobs for needy Gambian young men and women. We hope to include a carbon credit scheme in it, with the assistance of those who are knowledgeable in this area. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU CAN PROVIDE CONSULTANCY ADVICE FOR THIS PURPOSE. Mangroves are remarkable forests of great importance. They provide not only sources of food and resources but also protecting coastlines, preventing erosion and regulating our climate worldwide. Nevertheless, mangroves have also become one of the most threatened ecosystems on earth and continue to be cleared at an alarming rate of 3-5 times greater than the overall rates of global deforestation, according to reports.
